IOWA LIBERTARIAN STATE CONVENTION TO BE HELD APRIL 24
Candidates for Federal, State, and Local Offices to be Nominated in Ames
Ed Wright, Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Iowa, announces that the 2010 Libertarian State Convention will be held April 24, 2010 at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center in Ames.
“The Libertarian Party is experiencing a surge of interest as voters show disappointment with both Democrats and Republicans. I expect our candidate for Governor will get well over 2% of the vote, bringing recognition of Libertarians as a major party in Iowa," according to Wright.
Libertarian candidates for a number of offices including Iowa Governor and Lt. Governor, U.S. House of Representatives, Iowa Legislature, and some local offices are expected to be nominated at the convention. Each candidate will give a short speech following their nomination and will be available to the press.
The convention will be open to the press and members of the general public during the nomination process from 11:00am to Noon. Snacks will be provided.
